Be well prepared for Rock Werchter this year! With this Rock Werchter checklist you know exactly what to bring and you’re ready for a great festival weekend!

The days at Rock Werchter you’re a true camper, so make sure you play this role with verve. With a few simple tools (see Rock Werchter packing list at the bottom of this blog) you’ll feel like you’re in a five-star resort.

1. A camping chair

The classic festival chair is the must have for every festival-goer. You may be tough, but some comfort is nice. Especially after a full day of dancing. From your chair you can also enjoy a beer with your camping neighbours.

2. A sleeping mat

A mat to sleep on provides quite reasonable sleeping comfort. It’s light and can’t leak like an air mattress that you also have to inflate. Okay, it’s not like your bed from home, but anything is better than the hard ground or a deflated air mattress. You want to be able to sleep a bit if you’re going to party for a few more days!

3. Picnic rug

Besides the fact that you’ll mostly be dancing and singing at the festival area of Rock Werchter, it’s also nice to relax at your tent from time to time. Believe us: you don’t want to do this on your clean towels in the mud and you don’t want to be in your tent if it’s 30+ degrees outside. So bring a picnic rug and invite your nice neighbour for a drink and a snack.

4. Lock up

Don’t forget a combination lock for your tent. Thieves are everywhere and even at Rock Werchter you never know. With a lock you can be sure there isn’t suddenly a stranger lying in your tent at night! 😉

Avoid having to tighten your muscles too much while sitting if you have a hangover.

Your sunscreen, phone and chewing gum, you’ve got to keep it all with you somehow.

1. Practical bag

Everyone needs it: a bag in which you keep your stuff while dancing. Because besides lipstick and your sunglasses, chewing gum and sunscreen are very handy to have with you. Make sure you have a bag that you can keep an eye on all the time and that closes well. A fannypack is perfect for this and is almost pickpocket-proof. In addition, these practical bags are fashionable for everyone!

2. All set with your sleeping set

Become a professional beauty queen (or -king). A sleeping set with earplugs and an eye mask is indispensable for both the trip and the festival itself. Your sleep rhythm will be ruined these days. On the way to, and certainly on the way back from the festival, you could use some comfort. No problems with people dancing to loud music at the camping at 9 am and don’t wake up from the light of the sun in the early morning. Make sure you’re able to sleep at least a few hours and put earbuds and an eye mask on you Rock Werchter checklist!

3. Smoking

Cigarettes are a must at festivals. Chances are that you also feel (more) need for smoking when you go to Rock Werchter. So make sure you bring some cigarettes with you because your brand might not be available at Rock Werchter. You also don’t want to waste valuable time queuing at the festival to buy some cigarettes.

4. Food and drinks

At Rock Werchter you’ll sleep little and dance and drink much for days. Your body is having a hard time this weekend, so make sure you can recharge a bit! Sleeping may not be an option, but with good food you can minimise the damage. Drink enough water, not too much, and eat regularly. A banana for some extra energy and vitamins certainly can’t hurt!

5. A Rock Werchter-proof outfit

It’s summer and you absolutely don’t want to think about a lot of clothes, but don’t forget that it can cool down quite a bit in the evening in Belgium. With little sleep, you can get cold quickly, especially if you are burned by the sun. With a nice sweater you make sure you don’t get cold.

6. Cash

You never know. You can lose your bank card and you won’t find it again with thousands of people dancing around you. Cash is always handy, but don’t leave your debit card at home because either. A lot of festivals are cashless these days. Check this in advance on the website of Rock Werchter.

Your legitimation, festival tickets and bus ticket are essential! Arrange this paperwork in time and put it on your Rock Werchter packing list.

1. Bus ticket

2. Festival ticket(s)

3. Passport or ID

Of course you want to party without any worries, so make sure to get your stuff together. From tweezers to plasters and from after-sun to ibuprofen. Who cares? You!

1. Baby wipes

You’re probably not going to see a lot of babies at Rock Werchter, these wipes come in handy for adults at a festival as well. In the absence of a luxurious bathroom, baby wipes can be the solution to freshen you up easily and quickly. Also handy in case the showers don’t work anymore to clean the sticky beer that has come over you.

2. Single-use washcloths

Those things you don’t think about until you go to Rock Werchter for the second time. It gives you a nice hand while showering and you can just throw them away afterwards.

3. Disinfecting gel

Disinfecting gel is always a good idea at a festival. You never know what the toilet facility at a festival looks like, the soap can run out or it’s just too crowdy at the water taps. With antibacterial gel this is no problem for you! Moreover, bacteria are everywhere with warm temperatures… so take disinfectant gel with you an add it to your Rock Werchter checklist.

4. Condoms

Be prepared for anything: who knows, you might find the love of your life at Rock Werchter! Instantly asking if he or she has had unsafe sex before is not the best foreplay. So go for safe and make sure you have condoms with you. Bring nice memories from Werchter, no annoying STDs. In case of even more bad luck you might need baby wipes again in 9 months…

These are not the items you immediately think of when you go to a festival, but they are important (and fun!). Your friends will certainly be happy if you take these items with you. We added them to this Rock Werchter checklist so you won’t forget them!

1. A quick recharge

Rock Werchter is mega big and crowded, so if your phone died, the search for your friends can take hours. A waste of your time! Bring a power bank! TIP: If you want to enter the books as a gadgetman or woman, arrange one that you can recharge in the sun (even when it’s cloudy). Bye charging stations #independent.

2. Your own music

Wake up with some chill playlists or jump out of your tent while listening to the headliners of the day: with a good speaker you can decide for yourself! Bring a music box or speaker and listen to your favourite music at your tent. Invite some neighbours and host your own pre-party!

3. The classic disposable camera

Classic is the new modern! Choose 24 moments at Rock Werchter that you absolutely want to capture with your disposable camera, have them processed and pick them up 5 days after the festival. You don’t know if the photos were successful, so that’s always exciting! A super fun re-experience of your weekend at Rock Werchter.

Rock Werchter is the perfect moment to get dressede with your new outfits! But don’t just think about looking pretty, being practical is also important. Good shoes, a nice pair of jogging pants or a warm coat are not always fashionable, but believe us you will be happy when you have them with you, so put them on your Rock Werchter checklist!

1. Poncho

An invention that helped many a dancing festivalgoer prevent wet clothes! If it starts raining or your tent breaks down, at least you still have the opportunity to keep yourself dry. It also fits easily in your bag. Choose one in an eye-catching color, so your friends can easily find you!

2. Hat on your head

A cap or hat helps against many complications you may encounter at a festival. It protects you from the sun, rain or bad-hair days. Add a pair of sunglasses and you can walk around with your hungover face in peace, no one recognizes you!

3. Good shoes

Rock Werchter is super big and you’re gonna dance a lot. So you take thousands of steps in one day. Of course you’d rather not do this in heels, so wear comfortable shoes! Bring an extra pair of shoes in case your sneakers are soaking wet from the rain. TIP: flip-flops are very convenient, if only for the showers at the campsite.
