Is your favorite festival over, but still want to continue to party? Bring the festival into your home! This way you won’t miss a party, and you can safely organize your own festival summer. In this blog we will tell you all about making playlists together, practising with pop-up tents and how to bring your favourite festival to your house!
#Tip 1: Purchase your favourite festival merchandise
Can the whole summer be a one big festival for you? But before you start your own backyard festival there is something you need to do first. Support your favourite festival by purchasing your festival merchandise online. New outfit, new you. Shine at your Stay At Home Festival!
Create your own festival map!
#Tip 2: Nobody parties alone, invite your friends!
No party without friends right? Do they live too far away or do they prefer to sleep at home? Get your laptop and install a video call application such as Zoom, Skype or just a Whatsapp call. Want to dance while talking to your friends? Install Houseparty on your phone to give the party a more dynamic perspective 😉 Invite your friends in the room and start a game. And don’t forget to take your annual festival picture! It will definitely be one for the books.

#Tip 3: Create your favourite playlist together
When all your friends are present it is time that the music starts playing. But hey, where is the DJ? From now on, YOU are the DJ! Create a Spotify playlist, right click on the title of the playlist and select Collaborative Playlist. From now on other people can add, delete or rearrange songs within this list. The beauty of this? A festival set list with tracks you and your friends like for your festival at home! No inspiration? There are many set lists from festivals available on Spotify or Youtube that you can use as inspiration.
#Tip 4: Mix your drinks
So we have the setting, you are shining in your favourite outfit, chatting with your friends while the music plays. What is missing? That is right, an ice cold drink. Unfortunately, there is no bartender who will make this delicious alcoholic drink for you. Luckily, the internet is full of tasty recipes of drinks that you can devour while dancing in your living room or backyard. And if you trust your friends enough, let them decide what you should make and do the same for them! Nothing wrong with a little variation.
#Tip 5: Get creative in the kitchen
And while you are still in the kitchen, put on your cooking apron and fire up the gass. Everybody knows that festival food is the best but try some new things and improvise while making yourself some delicious food. Make yourself a hotdog or try out a new kind of burger, the supermarket is filled with something for everyone. If you are looking for some inspiration, check out the Tasty website. Guaranteed you will be hungry after that!
#Tip 6: Practice with your pop-up tent
Do you want to be completely festival ready next summer? Find your tent from the attic and go practice! And with practice we mean how to fold it back, because we all know those tents can be a pain in the ass. So practice folding your pop-up tent! Did you manage to do it but are you still missing the festival vibes? Grab your stuffed animals from your bed and place a sleeping bad on a mat, because you are sleeping in the tent tonight! Get to know the sounds of your neighbourhood or go stargazing. Be prepared for a night full of fun!
#Tip 7: Home workout!
Sitting inside during these times does no good to anyone. A little activity will be good for your body and your mental health. So tell your friends to bring their dancing shoes to the Skype party because you are going to learn how to shuffle! Is shuffling not your cup of tea? Try something new like “hakken”, cutting shapes, vogueing or another dance style. Youtube is filled with tutorials! This will prepare you to be absolute festival ready and is also a nice workout 😉
#Tip 8: Follow a livestream
Still missing your favourite festival? Don’t worry, there are many festivals who are currently offering live streams. This way people can still enjoy the sets of the festival but from a safe distance. Keep an eye on your festival’s social media pages because you will certainly find a live stream to watch!

#Tip 9: Get virtually lost
Rather keep your house clean? If you are a fan of gaming we have a solution! Look for games like Sims or Minecraft and start playing! Create your own virtual festival and make it just how you like it. You want 10 stages? You can get 10 stages! Small festivals or one big one? Nothing is too crazy for your virtual festival. Invite your friends to your festival by building it in an online Minecraft server. This way the party can get started and you’ll have your own safe festival at home!
