Every year there is a wide variety of artists on the lineup. At Balaton Sound you do not have to stick to one genre: there is everything. Although the festival mainly focuses on EDM, there are plenty of other things to see on the other stages (often also on the Mainstage): Hip Hop, House, Reggae, Drum and Bass or Techno: nothing is too crazy. This year you will celebrate Balaton Sound begin July in the Hungarian village of Zamárdi. Due to the time of year and the location, the festival is known for being very hot, which is of course delicious: tanning in the sun and dancing in the evening in your favorite summer outfit to the best electronic music. You can assume that you will replace your normal outfit with your swimwear for 3 days, great!

No one can tell when exactly it started, but Balaton Sound is the domain of the Belgians. Literally. Something that probably plays a large part in this is that their own Tomorrowland is always sold out within two minutes. And you can only agree: the area (green forests and clear blue water), dance until the early hours, a better atmosphere (according to insiders) and last but not least: the price (cheap drinks!) Sounds more attractive, doesn’t it? This year there is a special Belgian stage for all the Belgians. Enjoy Flemish fries while dancing to your favourite artists.

The audience of Balaton Sound becomes more diverse every year. Everyone enjoys this variety anyway and Balaton is known for having the best atmosphere. This all starts during the bus trip, where you make enough new friends along the way. Even before you cross the Hungarian border, the Austrians hop on the bus with their schnitzels. The adventure has started.

Once upon a time there was guitar music, nowadays it is electronic that strikes the clock at Balaton Sound 2024. With names that are even bigger than in previous years, you can be sure that it will be a good party!

In addition to various large stages, you will also find bars with live music at Balaton. One of those stages runs straight into the lake, how chill! Also, expect to pack up with laser shows, flamethrowers and smoke machines. There is really a lot of design done: the entire festival is decorated with the most beautiful decoration, where crazy coloured spots are put on at night. Really a feast for the eyes and also a perfect terrain to get lost in for nights. Balaton is actually a kind of amusement park for adults and you shouldn’t miss the chance to be as small again.

Fortunately for the real fit girls among us, there are plenty of other activities to experience besides dancing. Balaton has several volleyball courts and (you never believe it) there is a real gym! You can also make a good hike to one of the neighboring villages to enjoy some culture.

Lake Balaton is your best friend when you’re melting out of your tent in Central Europe in the morning. The locals also call it the “Hungarian Sea”, because of the enormous dimensions: 15 x 80 km (!). This also makes it the largest lake in Europe. For the deepest point you must have at least reached your Padi, because in some places you have to dive about 12 meters to touch the bottom. There are many more tips for Balaton Sound. The lake is a real tourist attraction in the summer, but fortunately during Balaton you only enjoy the cool water with like-minded people. Float together on coloured inflatable animals!

If you are unlucky, you will burn out your tent in the morning. There is a good chance that you wake up in a bed of your own sweat and roll over the grass like a burrito. No worries: Balaton Sound is getting more popular every year, and there are certainly good reasons for that. The first thing you do is take a sandwich, grab your swimsuit and take a refreshing dip. Applying is certainly not overrated and very important: the sun is a lot stronger here than in our cold countries. Once you’ve completed this process, you’ll be ready for your first beer by the end of the afternoon. The sun will drop, and if you’re lucky, a local singer will provide the necessary romance. Charged and ready for a new evening!

In terms of food, you have nothing to complain about on Balaton Sound; there is everything. Vegan and gluten-free options are also taken into account. The drinks will have a friendly price: for about 30 euros per day you are at the right place at Balaton.
