Every campsite has its own personality, and making the wrong decision can torture you for 5 days. The people at the campsite don’t know how to stop and will scream the whole night, guaranteed. Still, you didn’t get a lot of sleep and want to catch up during the day? Bring a sleep mask with you! An important tip: get to know the stages. Every stage on Dour has its own personality. The main stage, The Last Arena, has something for everyone. If it isn’t one of the biggest hip-hop artists of the century who is jumping on stage, you can party on the guitar solo of your favorite band.

When you go to Dour Festival it is smart to bring your own (healthy) snacks. At the festival they mostly sell deep-fried snacks and believe us when we say that after two days you have had enough of them. Greasy snacks might feel like the perfect solution for your hangovers, but in the end vitamins are way more important than you think.

Dour is a French speaking festival. You will notice this very quickly. Prepare yourself because even at the First Aid they will probably look at you like you come from a different planet when you try to communicate in English. But this can be positive, you will probably come back with a great French vocabulaire.

So, let’s be honest: we don’t go to Dour to enjoy the showers. So it is a relieve when after two days you smell the others visitors more than yourself. Dour will be dirtier than you are used to and after 5 full days you will probably not recognize yourself anymore. Do you feel like being clean after a day of crazy partying? Our tip: visit the gas station in the village of Dour and take a fresh shower under the garden hose. You will be clean before you know it!
