#Tip 1: Practical packing
Waiting in line with all your camping gear and then having to walk around the area to find a great spot for your tent … that sucks. Make sure you have a good bag which you can carry on your back, shoulder or together with someone. If you have to walk for a long time you want to make sure you can alternate the way you carry your stuff. You don’t want to start your festival weekend being sore! Avoid suitcases with wheels, they cannot roll on grass and are difficult to carry. We have made a Let it Roll packing list so you won’t forget anything!
Extra tip: It can get very cold at night in the Czech Republic. Take a sweater with you, so you can dance until the early hours at the outdoor stage!
#Tip 2: It's show time!
It’s showtime! We’re talking about the opening show which you absolutely don’t want to miss. Expect a jawbreaking opening because Let It Roll makes sure the festival kicks off with a bang. Don’t miss this and be there!
You don’t want to miss this spectacular show!
#Tip 3: Garbage bags
Garbage bags come in handy for literally every situation that you find yourself in. Use them to throw in all the empty beer cans, stretch them over your backpack to keep your stuff dry, or use them as a festival rug. With a little bit of creativity, you could even turn it into a fancy raincoat. Amazing! The options are endless.
#Tip 4: Camping choices
Let it Roll offers three camping options: Independent camp, Capital camp and Car camp. But which one should you choose ?! From our experience the Capital camp (formerly Comfort camp) is the best. This campsite is the closest to the festival site, has free showers and for the ladies among us there is a private ladies zone with mirrors and sockets to do your make-up and hair! What else do you want?
Extra tip: Prevent yourself from waking up in a sauna in the morning or waking up to the light and use a blackout tent. Alternatively, put garbage bags over your tent with duct tape, that way it will remain dark, but it may still get hot. Placing a tarp will put your tent in the shade and helps keeping your tent cool.
#Tip 5: Fresh and clean
Let’s face it: we don’t come to Let it Roll to shower. There are showers at the festival, but as the experienced festival-goer knows, there are always long queues here. You can also dive into a lake and possibly sunbathe for a few hours. Visit the lakes in Ostré, Všejany or in Benátky. Baby towels come in handy to freshen yourself up as well, but those towels can’t beat a refreshing dive into the lake.
A water balloon fight is also a great shower opportunity!
#Tip 6: Timetable
The festival area of Let It Roll Festival is HUGE. So don’t walk around and change stages too often, because you end up seeing nothing. Plan in advance which artists you would like to see. This way you don’t just walk up and down the area while missing most acts.
Extra tip: Do not always go directly to the main stages, the best sets are not always found here.
#Tip 7: Hunt for shadow
It can be hard to find shade on the camping. Take a beach umbrella with you so you can always sit in the shade! Make sure you drink enough water, not too much, and eat regularly. You might not feel hungry because of the heat, but your body definitely needs the energy! A piece of fruit is always a good idea when it’s hot outside.
#Tip 8: Cashless
Your festival wristband is your wallet at the same time. Handy, right?! This way you don’t have to take money and cards everywhere with the chance that you will lose them.
Extra tip: the Czech Republic is a lot cheaper than most European countries. Get 2 beers instead of 1, it’s the same price and means less walks to the bar!
Your wristband is your wallet!
